This year, we welcome Elizabeth Núñez as our clinician!

Elizabeth Núñez is a conductor, clinician, speaker, soloist, and Creative Director of the award-winning Young People’s Chorus of New York City (YPC), where she reaches more than 2,000 young people annually. Since joining YPC in 2004, she has helped shape many of the organization’s signature programs while providing vision for innovative artistic and educational initiatives. Elizabeth is also the Founding Artistic Director of the intergenerational SoHarmoniums Women’s Choir in New York City’s SoHo neighborhood. Founded in 2006 with just six singers, the ensemble has grown to more than 80 women who perform to capacity audiences throughout the city. In 2014, she created WIT: Women Inspiring Tomorrow, a mentoring program that connects YPC’s high school girls with alumnae and accomplished women across a wide range of professions.

She has conducted YPC choristers at many of the nation’s most prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall, the Apollo Theater, and Lincoln Center, as well as on national television programs such as Today, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and Good Morning America. Internationally, she has led YPC to first-place victories at the Llangollen Eisteddod, the World Choir Games in South Korea and New Zealand and at the Choral Kathaumixw Festival in British Columbia, where the ensemble was named "Choir of the World"—the first American choir to earn the honor in the festival’s 34-year history.

Elizabeth also led many of YPC’s virtual performance and education initiatives, including the development of Hello, Singers!, a 10-episode pilot series that reached more than 3,000 children across New York City. As Creative Director of YPC’s 2022 holiday film special, Topsy Turvy New York, she earned a New York Emmy Award.

Beyond her work with YPC, Elizabeth is a sought-after guest conductor, choral clinician, and speaker, leading performances and workshops locally and around the world. She has conducted numerous All-State Honor Choirs and the OAKE National Children’s Honor Choir, and has led YPC as a featured ensemble at the 2020 ACDA Eastern Regional Conference and the 2023 ACDA National Conference. An active professional singer and soloist, she also serves on the Chorus America Board of Directors.
